Feature · Points, goals & rewards

Motivating, not punishing

Points show progress, goals give direction, rewards are fun. And because every completion counts towards the personal, the group and the household goal at once, cooperation matters more than competition.

Three levels

One completion, three goals

Personal

“Max: 100 points this month” – shows his own progress and unlocks a personal reward, like picking dinner.

Group

“Kids: 250 points together” – all group members contribute to the same goal. The kids pick the movie night.

Household

“Family: 600 points this month” – every matching completion counts. At the end there is the family trip to the cinema.

Goal types

Not only points count

Points goal

“200 points by the end of the month.”

Completion rate

“90% of all planned tasks this week.”

Streak

“Seven days without overdue pet care.”

Community goal

Adults 300 + kids 150 – both sub-goals must be met. Weekly and monthly goals restart automatically.

Rewards

From picking dinner to a family outing

Rewards attach to goals and are unlocked automatically or confirmed by an admin. There are personal, group and team rewards, privileges (“swap a task”, “skip a duty”) and virtual rewards.

  • Currency mode: points optionally as a redeemable balance
  • Progress mode: points only show progress
  • Suggestion catalogue with rewards per household type

Points rules

Points that fit the task

A fixed value per task or different per weekday (more on Sundays), a bonus for volunteering, a bonus for punctuality or streaks. Minus points are not the default – the focus is on motivation and shared responsibility.

  • A single points ledger per person, all levels are calculated from it
  • Reversal when a completion is reopened
  • Statistics: distribution and rates instead of a leaderboard
